Dental Bridge in Hull

Dental bridge treatment replaces teeth and restores full jaw function.

What is a dental bridge?

A bridge is a dental appliance that is anchored to the natural teeth or dental implants on either side of a gap left by missing teeth. The bridge is then attached to artificial teeth, known as pontics, which fill the gap and restore the patient’s ability to chew and speak properly.

At Spring Dental Surgery in Hull, we understand the importance of having a complete set of healthy teeth. Unfortunately, tooth loss can happen due to a variety of reasons such as decay, trauma, or gum disease. A dental bridge is a common solution for replacing missing teeth and restoring your smile.

How does the dental bridge procedure work?

The procedure for getting a bridge typically requires two visits to our office.

  • During the first visit, we will prepare the natural teeth or implants that will anchor the bridge. Impression of the teeth will be taken and a temporary bridge is placed.
  • On the second visit, the permanent bridge will be checked for fit and bite and then cemented into place.

Type of dental bridges

Bridges can vary depending on the purpose and outcome. There are several types of bridges available including;-

Traditional bridges – Made from porcelain, bridges fuse to either metal or ceramics. The procedure involves creating crowns for the teeth on either side of the missing tooth, with an artificial tooth fitted in between.

Cantilever bridges – The less common type of bridge, used when teeth are only on one side of the missing tooth.

Bonded bridges – Bonded on only one side of your existing teeth, and either made of porcelain, plastic teeth or gums, fitted onto a metal or porcelain framework.

Our team of experts will work with you to determine the best type of bridge for your needs.

Regular dental check-ups and good oral hygiene practices are essential to maintaining the longevity of your bridge. Our team will provide you with instructions on how to care for your bridge and will schedule regular check-ups to ensure that your bridge is functioning properly.

Don’t let missing teeth affect your smile and your ability to chew properly. A dental bridge from Spring Dental Surgery in Hull can restore your smile and your confidence.
